The latest Johan Nijenhuis film, *Tegendraads*, is set in the early 1960s. Nearly a third of the film was shot at DeFabrique, including the groovy party scene in the Smederij.
Strike while the iron is hot...
The production transformed De Smederij into a textile factory equipped with large looms. De Smederij is a 400-square-meter open space featuring a permanent industrial catering area and a mezzanine above it. This was the first time DeFabrique had used the mezzanine for a film shoot.
Both parties—Johan Nijenhuis & Co and DeFabrique—emphasized the excellent collaboration. The partnership was fast, efficient, and effective, allowing them to accomplish a great deal and work together to create an unforgettable evening on the big screen.

“In just a short time, we’ve had a wonderful and close collaboration. It’s been a great challenge to work with a professional production company like Johan Nijenhuis & Co to completely transform our location into a film set. I can’t wait to see the result on the big screen in Dutch theaters!”
made for an unforgettable experience.

“It’s wonderful to see everyone working together. By collaborating, you can achieve a fantastic end result on set much more quickly. It was an honor to facilitate this project.”
