History
From factory to vibrant event venue
For more than a century, the factory has been changing with the times. What started as a factory for the production of linseed oil and mixed feed has grown into a leading event location. This story still forms the foundation for what we do today.
1921
The enterprising Frisian Tjeerd Jacob Twijnstra starts a factory for linseed oil and cattle feed in Maarssen.
1945–1950
After World War II, the factory switched to processing coconut products, also known as copra. A new warehouse was built for copra processing (now known as the Copraloods).
1960
The concrete silos are built. In 1962, oil production ceases and the focus shifts entirely to mixed feed.

1963
The UT factory merges with Delfia to form U.T.-DELFIA (UTD)
1991
The UTD factory is being put up for sale
1996
Jan and Krijnie van Eck purchase the factory building. Production is relocated to Deventer and the factory ceases operations.
2000
With the opening of Kartfabrique, life returns on site and the industrial heritage begins to take on a new purpose.
2001
Opening of DeFabrique Event Venue with De Perserij. The first events can take place.
