The Forgotten Child

During the Week of the Forgotten Child, the Forgotten Child Foundation organized the Heppie Factory for the first time. 300 vulnerable children between the ages of 6 and 18 celebrated at DeFabrique. Without worries. Without sadness. Just being kids for a while. After a day full of inspiring, creative, funny, and relaxing activities, they went home with big smiles on their faces. Mission accomplished!

Focus on Kids' Fun

At the Heppie Factory, children’s fun takes center stage. It’s a real celebration—with and for these children. With so many different age groups gathered together, it can be quite a challenge to find a suitable activity for everyone. That’s why DeFabrique was divided into seven areas, each with its own activities: Heppie Moves, Heppie Sport, Heppie Hearts, Heppie Beauty, Heppie Science/Tech, Heppie Crea, and Heppie Music. Children could explore the areas on their own and immerse themselves in fun.

Do your part

Ambassadors from all over the country rushed to DeFabrique to lead workshops and join in the fun. Wendy van Dijk and Juvat Westendorp led dance workshops; there was go-karting at the Kartfabrique with Saar Koningsberger; former Holland’s Next Top Model winner Montell van Leijen and Francis Beukeveld were on hand at Heppie Beauty for hair styling and makeup; and at Heppie Science, exciting experiments were conducted with Jandino Asporaat as the guinea pig. About the client
There are tens of thousands of children in the Netherlands who are denied the chance to simply be children. They grow up in families facing multiple challenges, and for 55,000 of these children, the situation has deteriorated to the point where they can no longer live at home. The Vergeten Kind organizes activities and events that have a direct, positive impact on these children’s lives. In addition, the organization focuses on bringing about a sustainable, structural improvement in their situation.
Monique Koot
Account Manager DeFabrique

"What a special organization and a wonderful cause! We’ve organized an event with Het Vergeten Kind before, but that one was aimed at policymakers. The fact that we were doing something for the children this time was very special. I won’t soon forget the dedication of the volunteers and all those happy faces on the day of the event. You have mixed feelings when you know these children’s stories, but the joy and the sense of being able to make a difference feel good."
