The Netherlands faces a housing shortage of more than 300,000 homes. As a result, it has become commonplace for people to be unable to find affordable housing for themselves or their families. Traditional construction methods cannot close this massive gap. We need to build faster, better, more affordably, and more sustainably. It’s time to transform the industry. That’s why at Fijn Wonen, they do things “the unconventional way.” In the factory, they build homes and apartments that are affordable, comfortable, and future-proof.

At the event, the new construction method was explained, and both in-person and online visitors were introduced to the latest developments, innovations, and the wide range of possibilities. The countdown clock built anticipation, and a hologram guided guests to their seats in the hall. A select group took their seats on the swivel chairs in the Copraloods and embarked on a journey. The other group watched online. Surrounding the main area were three stages where a variety of activities took place in rotation. The group was given a behind-the-scenes look at the construction process, followed the livestream to the brand-new factory, and chairs Dionne Stax and Sander Schimmelpenninck engaged in conversation with guests and speakers. Did the LED wristband light up? Then it was time to turn your chair toward the next stage. The live show ended with the spectacular unveiling of the new homes and apartments. Video mapping and a sensational light and sound show gave everyone goosebumps and made the chairs shake.

Innovation Lab

Did guests want to learn more about this new way of building? If so, they could visit various areas. For example, there was an Innovation Lab, and visitors could engage in conversation at various booths. Several interactive models also offered a glimpse into the future.

This is an event people won’t forget! There was something happening all around you, and the cool projection mapping really tied the product launch together. Working with various experts—stage design, decoration, technical production, and venue—Fijn Wonen put together an amazing program. Collaborating with Talitha and Stephan was a real pleasure: we worked hard to create something special and kept our minds open to new possibilities.
