30 flags for 30 years

What do you get when you bring together 390 engineers, 30 flag bearers, a 5.5-meter inflatable elephant, and a forest of knowledge full of experiences? The 30th anniversary of the Center for Underground Construction at DeFabrique! This annual gathering was celebrated in style to mark the anniversary, with the number 30 playing a starring role, of course! From the very first moment, guests were amazed by the impressive linear opening with 30 flag bearers and a personal song about the COB. It was a day full of surprises, craftsmanship, and connection!

Paula Braas
Production and performance manager

The COB went all out to creatively showcase the knowledge gained over the past 30 years and upcoming studies and reports. DeFabrique is a great partner who realized all these plans based on trust.

About the client
The COB is a network organization focused on collecting, developing, and disseminating knowledge about and related to underground space use.
Tamara Hans
Event Producer

"It started as a puzzle of all the pieces coming together, but as soon as we really got going together, everything fell into place. Our largest space was given a completely new look, which made for a super fun event!"

Right through the forest of knowledge full of surprises

Accompanied by COB tour guides, guests explored the knowledge forest. There were no fewer than 30 different activities to discover, spread across the Copraloods, the Smederij, and the Stoomerij.

In the middle of the Copraloods was the digitization square, surrounded by activities such as a quartet game to test your technical knowledge and an evolution path that showed the road to standardization.

The Smederij was transformed into a large cable forest leading to Kabeltjesland, where guests encountered cables that are normally neatly hidden away. At the end of the path, the familiar voice of Mr. Owl could be heard. He gave a wise explanation of how cables and pipes are arranged in Cable Land. Guests could also relax here with a cup of coffee in one hand and the cable newspaper in the other.
