LabourLaw United

Never before has labor law, as a bedrock of the legal system, been put to the test as it was in 2020: the year of COVID-19. To kick off the new year on the right foot, legal professionals were invited to the digital conference “LabourLaw United – (Labor) Law After the Crisis?!”, broadcast live from DeFabrique. Five legal associations joined forces with organizer MR. in opleidingen to host the largest digital labor law conference ever. A day full of inspiration and motivation!

3D environment

The online event put every Zoom, Skype, Teams, Slack, or webinar session to shame. A ticket to LabourLaw United digitally opened the doors to DeFabrique. In a 3D environment, the industrial venue came to life. This allowed legal professionals to experience the atmosphere of the event venue right from their own workspaces. After the plenary opening, they could move between four stages, each hosted by one of the legal associations and featuring its own unique look and feel.

Content & Fun

There was no shortage of substantive sessions at LabourLaw United. During four breakout sessions, the 1,100 attendees could choose from a wide range of sub-sessions, such as:

Litigation in Labor Appeals
Brexit and labor law
Equal Pay for Men and Women

There was also time for relaxation with movies, music, and cabaret. During a break, guests could virtually take a seat in the movie theater, where videos from De Kleine Komedie were shown. Songwriter Froukje performed halfway through the conference. The day concluded with a debate on the future of work. Thanks to the fantastic feedback, the organizers are currently working on setting up the next event: LabourLaw United TV.
