The Forgotten Child I Heppie Factory

On October 12 and 13, we transformed DeFabrique—in collaboration with Het Vergeten Kind—into the Heppie Factory. Over the weekend, children had the chance to participate in a variety of activities that allowed them to discover their talents and have unforgettable experiences. About 600 children from family homes and group homes enjoyed a weekend full of fun activities and workshops.

Fun That Lasts

Once again this year, the Heppie Factory was bursting with fun and energy! Children had a blast in the various Heppie Areas, each with its own surprises. In Heppie America, the kids roller-skated at full speed, while in the Beauty Area they pampered themselves with makeup, a new look at the hair salon, a massage, or a manicure. In the Game Area, the pace picked up: behind the wheel of a racing simulator, they tackled the race track like real drivers. Those looking for more action could let loose on the go-kart track! And anyone in the mood to move could join a lively dance workshop.

The event was also a musical celebration. Performances by Bizzey, Emma Heesters, DJ Joyliana, and the Telekids musical group got the crowd moving. The ultimate highlight of the program was the Meet & Greets. Beaming faces, photos, and unforgettable moments with Bizzey and Emma Heesters created lasting memories. And this was just a small taste of what these two days had to offer!

Unforgettably delicious

What’s a party without good food? The kids got to enjoy all kinds of treats: They took part in a donut workshop, where they decorated their ultimate donut, grabbed some fresh popcorn, or shaved their own ice cream. They also got to enjoy a cone full of crunchy candy vegetables with dip, fruit, and of course, a delicious pizza slice! As the icing on the cake, they could grab slush puppies. For those who wanted to stay in the sweet mood, there was a giant Candy Crush setup, where they could play the famous game themselves in a life-size version!

“The strength of our collaboration is what makes the Heppie Factory truly special. We’ve been working together for years with great joy to bring this unique event to life. It’s wonderful to see how, time and time again—thanks to the enthusiasm and creativity of the client, all the volunteers, and our partners—we’re able to create a day full of fun and relaxation that’s truly unforgettable for the children. And that’s why we do it: for those happy, beaming faces.”
