Chaos in Order

There’s been plenty of chaos this year! While a lively in-person festival wasn’t possible for this second edition, for organizer Rachel Lévi there was no question: Chaos in the Order is going ahead! “The work festival stands for renewal and innovation, so why wait? Because right now, there’s a need for connection and innovative power.” Organizational innovators (in the making) came together ONLIVE to listen to keynotes from creative thinkers and, above all, to get hands-on during workshops and activities.

ABOUT CHAOS IN ORDER

The "Chaos in the Order" Work Festival is an initiative of Huis van Verbeelding and is designed for (budding) organizational innovators who want to drive change, innovate, and spark a positive movement within their organization.

Festival atmosphere: online too

Creating a festival atmosphere was essential, especially now. Rachel: “A stimulating environment is essential because it helps people think differently.” Chaos in de Orde did everything it could to let visitors experience that festival feeling from the comfort of their own homes. Before the event, they received a package in the mail containing treats and inspirational materials. Technology also played a major role in conveying the festival atmosphere. Sessions were streamed from various locations, each with its own moderator, allowing visitors to virtually navigate the venue. Through the online event platform, you could create your own schedule and join the conversation via chat. The sessions were designed to be interactive, and during a mid-afternoon break, every effort was made to get people at home back on track after the lunch break. To bring it all full circle, you could meet like-minded people during the networking session via the networking app.

Inspiration for innovation

Who better to inspire the audience than creative thinkers and role models for innovation? The lineup was diverse: 9 speakers shared their thought-provoking ideas and encouraged out-of-the-box and mind-expanding thinking. Which sessions did you attend? That was entirely up to the visitors. Rob Urgert, for example, addressed the question: how do you come up with a brilliant idea in 30 minutes? Or how about a session on humor in the workplace? Or future thinking for beginners? There was a thought-provoking session for everyone! Fortunately, the speakers didn’t have to talk to a camera alone. The audience was visible on screens in front of them, so interaction could still take place remotely.

Rachel Lévi
Initiator of "Chaos in the Order"

"It feels very strange to be in an empty hall, surrounded by rows of screens and technicians, yet still connect with people at home. We did everything we could to make that possible. Fortunately, the participants were just as enthusiastic as we were about making it a festive, energetic day together. A festival like this is something you create together."
